| |  | | | | | | BRAUN GRANIT is a limited liability, joint venture company. The main shareholder is a German firm " Harz - Granit Natursteinwerke" GmbH from Tröstau near Wunsiedel (Bawaria). This firm, whih has existed on the market for over 100 years, is represented by Johan Braun and Jürgen Braun.
1On 1st July 1995 BRAUN GRANIT started building a plant in Czernica ( DOBROMIERZ community, Dolnoœl¹skie voivodship). Since 1975 the Granite Mine in Czernica has been closed. The excavation was flooded with falling water and thebuildings were taken to pieces or devastated. The first works on this almost virgin area were : repairing a transformer station and a compressor bay, and then building a splitting machine bay, hand- working bay and the welfare and administrationbase. Since the beginning of the activity Janusz Pi¹tek, who lives in Jawor, has been the manager of the mine. At present BRAUN GRANIT employs 70 people
Our basic products are blocks, kerbs, gardenpoles, flower beds and other elements of the " small" architecture which can be made to order. Germany is the main ready market although recently there has been an increase of interest in granite noticed in Poland. To meet those needs we are starting a net of shops selling granitic products within the area of Poland.

Granite from the " CZERNICA" deposit is a mid- granular rock of light grey colour. The technical parameters, such as absorbability, compression strenght, grindability and freeze resistance make this granite a very good building material which can be used in the building engineering with no limitations. In Poland there is a stereotype that natural rocks are a very exclusive and very expensive material. However this reasoning is wrong, for the prices of a concrete block and a block of granite are comparable but the quality parameters are repeatedly higher for granite is its durability
