The floor tiles of monocottura and glazed porcellanato stoneware type are intended for interior walls and exterior cladding of buildings. Technical specifications and properties of the floor tiles have to be well-adjusted to mechanical impact the tiles shall have to resist in a given room. Therefore, glazed floor tiles are divided according to their abrasion class (PEI) and surface hardness (Mohs scale).
CERAMIKA PARADYŻ recommends to apply adhesive mortars and joint mortars for the laying of tiles and decorations strictly in accordance with the instructions of the producer of the adhesives and joints.
The recommended method of laying frost-resistant tiles on the exterior of the building:
The surface of the bedding on which the tiles are to be laid has to be strong, even, thoroughly cleaned, and resistant to distortions. In order to reduce the absorbing capacity of the bedding, the grounding emulsion should be applied. If the tiles are to be laid on a balcony or terrace, it is necessary to make bedding and insulation layers, as well as the dilatation. The falls have to be made in the bedding layer.
Floor tiles of monocottura and glazed porcellanato stoneware type are recommended for use as follows:
Tiles of the 3rd abrasion class (PEI III) and minimum hardness of 5 in Mohs scale - in rooms of low pedestrian traffic, where soft footwear is worn. They can be applied in residential houses, e.g., in bathrooms, and bedrooms.
Tiles of the 4th abrasion class (PEI IV) and hardness of 7 in Mohs scale - in rooms of medium pedestrian traffic, where soft footwear is worn, e.g., kitchens, corridors, and halls.
Tiles of the 4th abrasion class (PEI IV) and hardness of > 7 in Mohs scale - in all rooms of residential and public buildings, e.g., pharmacies, restaurants, halls, showrooms, etc., except places of a very high pedestrian traffic.
