| |  | | | | | | The whole story began just after World War I, when on the grounds of burnt textile factory, its owner's son, Artur Hasbach, started production of plywood in 1919. Location of the factory was caused by near wood resources in forests as well as by increasing demand for plywood on world markets.The investment caused change of skills of workers who used to work in textile factory. They were pioneers of generations of plywood makers whose sons and grandsons work for the company today. Their dedication in the factory expansion helps us to continue the long lasting tradition.
First success was gained by Bialystok plywood makers in 1926, when their products were noted as quality items not only in Poland, but also abroad - among others in Belgium and the Netherlands. In subsequent years the successes were repeated and the firm was prized and awarded as best plywood producer in Poland. In the same time the company was continuing its exports expansion to demanding markets of North America and Western Europe.
Since 1978 the company, as the first in the country, has started production of plywood coated with phenolic film, using proven German process, and since 1996 it has introduced volume production of highest in Poland size of 3100x1550 mm. Currently the company offers several different sizes of plywood and possibility of cutting them with high accuracy into smaller piece. These speciality and close relations with Bialystok region is reflected in the company name BIAFORM SA Plywood Industry Works. In 1994 the company was privatised as joint stock company and in 1995 it joined the general privatisation program, Current shareholders of the Company are: National Investment Funds, State Treasury and the employees.
Today capital of the company is 80 years of experience, which permits us to react rapidly to customers' demand and to meet their requirements.We co-operate with permanent and proven partner companies supplying us best quality wood and glue materials as well as other components for production which guarantee compliance with high quality standards.
We are known in Poland and abroad from the fact that BIAFORM SA professionals are able to produce high-grade plywood in short production cycle using modern process technology and know-how. Our constantly attractive commercial offer is proven by the fact that with a number of customers we have worked for many years. 50% of our sales we export to demanding markets in the USA, Canada, France. Norway, Sweden, Denmark, Germany and Italy.
